Dr Tannis Shaw

Dr. Shaw started ERGO-CHECK with the primary objective of preventing back pain.  After over 10 years in private practice as a Chiropractor, she has switched gears to teach people how to prevent back pain instead of treating it after it has already started.  Over the years she has had patients tell her about ergonomic specialists who have assessed their work stations but there has always been something missing — how to sit properly!  You don’t need to spend a lot of money replacing your office desk, computer, or chair, you just need to have the proper information given to you (and work diligently to correct postural strain) to prevent significant back problems.

Dr. Shaw graduated from the University of Victoria in 1995 with a double major degree in Kinesiology & Psychology, and focussed on sports injuries and rehabilitation.  After graduating from UVic, she attended the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto and graduated in 1999.  She opened her solo practice in Campbell River in early 2000 and sold it over 10 years later to move back to Victoria and launch ERGO-CHECK.  Dr. Shaw is motivated to teach people the truth about proper posture, especially in an age of computers and prolonged sitting, in order to prevent irreparable damage and unnecessary pain to the spine, back and neck.

Once you learn the secret to sitting properly, you will not only feel better, but you’ll have more energy, a greater attention span and enjoy a life with fewer bouts of back and neck pain.
